Our aim is to promote, develop and encourage Art & Craft on the Central Coast, especially the mid-coast region.
The Tuggerah Lakes Art Society was founded in 1989 by the late Robert Doyle, a local artist and teacher at the Ourimbah Community College. Robert was self-taught and extremely talented. His love for painting and generosity in sharing what he knew with others made him well liked and very popular. His family has now established the annual "Robert Doyle Memorial Prize," awarded to the best "Bush Painting" by an Art Society member.
The Art Society sees itself in the role of fostering the development of painting in mediums such as oils, acrylic, watercolour, pastel, line and wash as well as drawing in pencil, charcoal etc. The Society is known for its friendly, cheerful atmosphere where everyone wants to lean more about art.
